The short version. Apex records motorcycle rides on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Your rides stay on your own devices and in your own iCloud account.
There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The developer cannot see your rides, your location, or your data.
One piece of information leaves your devices: when a ride finishes, its coordinates are sent to a weather service to look up the conditions. That is described in full below.
This policy applies to the Apex iPhone app, its Apple Watch app, and its Live Activity widget (together, “the app”). It is provided by the app's developer, the “we” below.
All of it is stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled on your Apple Account, it also syncs through your own private iCloud database so your iPhone shows the same library across your devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it, and neither does anyone else.
If you turn on automatic backups, the app also writes a backup file into its own Documents folder on your device, which you can see and manage in the Files app. That file never leaves your device unless you move it yourself.
Exactly one thing. When a ride is recorded, the app sends the ride's latitude and longitude over HTTPS to Open-Meteo to retrieve the temperature and weather conditions at that place. The request contains only those coordinates. It carries no name, no account, no device identifier and nothing that identifies you, because the app has no account system and sends no identifier. The app makes no other network requests of any kind.
The watch app talks to the iPhone app over Apple's device-to-device connection. That traffic stays between your own paired devices.
The watch app starts a workout session while you ride. This is done for one technical reason: it is the only mechanism watchOS provides that keeps an app on screen for the length of a ride instead of returning to the watch face. The app reads no health data and writes no health data. Nothing is saved to the Health app, and nothing from Health is used, shared or transmitted.
Apex Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly and handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; we never see or receive your payment details, and we are not told who subscribed. The app only ever asks Apple whether an active entitlement exists on this device, and gets back yes or no.
Riders who bought Apex Pro earlier, when it was a single payment, keep it permanently. That purchase is still honoured and is not converted into a subscription.
You can view, change or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings; the app links you there and never handles the cancellation itself.
None. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it collects nothing for marketing.
Apex is not directed at children and collects no information about anyone's age or identity.
Because the data lives on your devices and in your own iCloud account, you control it directly:
We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or delete on your behalf. If you are in a jurisdiction with statutory data rights (for example the UK or EU GDPR), the practical effect is that the controls above are complete — there is no server-side copy for a request to reach.
If the app's data handling changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
